This website is simply one tool to assist you in the search for your lost pet.  While the list of animals is refreshed every two hours, we strongly urge you to check our shelter in person, during normal business hours. We also encourage you to check online resources such as NextdoorCraigslist, and Facebook groups such as Lost and Found Pets 209. You can post lost or found animals here at LostMyKitty or LostMyDoggie

The shelter will hold onto a stray animal for a minimum of 72 hours in order to give an owner the opportunity to look for their lost pet. Once the holding period has ended, an animal may be evaluated and placed for adoption if the animal passes the evaluation.  An animal may be humanely euthanized if the animal is irremediably suffering from a medical condition or injury or does not pass a behavioral evaluation.

Did you find a Pet?

If you have found a lost pet within the City of Stockton and the unincorporated areas of San Joaquin County, and wish to transport it to the Stockton Animal Shelter, please contact our office at (209) 937-7445, to schedule an appointment.

If you do not want to bring the found animal to the shelter, you may create a lost profile for the animal, using online resources such as NextdoorCraiglist and Facebook Groups such as Lost and Found Pets 209 , www.lostmykitty.com or www.lostmydoggie.com, and the information will be forwarded to the Stockton Animal Shelter.
