The list of animals is typically updated every two hours; however, please note that there are occasions when the site may go offline or may not be available for updating. 
Adopting Dogs and Cats
The City of Stockton Animal shelter wants positive outcomes for all impounded animals. To help make adoption more affordable the Stockton Animal Shelter is temporarily waiving all adoption costs for all cats, dogs over the age of six months, while reducing the adoption cost for puppies under the age of six months. Every adoption includes the spay or neuter surgery, FVRCP Vaccination(for cats), DHPP Vaccination (for dogs), Deworming Preventative, Microchip, and Rabies Vaccinations.
Adoption Process
Upon arrival you will be greeted by our Animal Shelter staff who will provide you a pre-adoption questionnaire to determine your eligibility with our adoption program. Once this form is completed, you will paired with an experienced adoption counselor who will walk you through the shelter & introduce you with potential companions. If you find a pet that that seems like a great fit for you and your family, you can begin the adoption process immediately! All animal that are not sterilized, will be assigned a prescheduled surgery appointment for a future date, before departing from the shelter.

Once completed, please print and present this to our animal shelter staff upon arrival. Please note, this form is required in order to walk-through the Stockton Animal Shelter, whether or not you choose to adopt an animal.
