Solid Waste and Recycling -
Included Collection Services

The services listed below are included in your monthly service charge. Residents will not be charged for the following services.

For more information, call your service provider’s Customer Service Center.

Extra Service Stickers:

Residents receive twelve (12) Extra Service stickers per year to use for FREE pick up of extra garbage, recycling or green waste when needed. These can be used anytime you have an occasion that generates extra waste. Once the twelve Extra Service stickers have been used, additional service is still available, however, at a nominal cost.

Extra Service stickers are mailed directly to the service address each May. The new set of stickers would then be available for use from June of that year through May of the following year.

Annual "Stockton Clean Sweep" Collection:

Residents have one opportunity each year to dispose of unwanted solid waste and recyclable items free of charge during their neighborhood clean-up program entitled "Stockton Clean Sweep".

PLEASE NOTE:
The program has been revised to provide "Clean Sweep" collections on a specific day during the week. "Clean Sweep" collections will no longer take place on Saturdays.

Additional program changes include:

  • The City has been divided into sections.

  • "Clean Sweeps" will be scheduled from February through October.

  • Each single family home, duplex and triplex will have a scheduled clean-up in a specific month and on a specific day. Residents will be notified two weeks prior to their designated clean-up date.

  • Your "Clean Sweep" day may or may not be on your regular collection day.

Used Household Battery Collection:

Did you know that household batteries are considered "hazardous waste"? Or that you are breaking the law by throwing them in your trash cart? Learn more...click here!

Residents can safely and easily dispose of used household batteries (AAA, AA, C and D) via their waste collection system. Special handling requirements do apply however.

Street Sweeping:

Residential areas will be swept every other week the day immediately following your collection day between 4 a.m. and 5 p.m. Vehicles parked on the street, low-hanging branches or other impediments prohibit sweepers from cleaning streets and gutters. To ensure streets are properly swept, residents are encouraged to remove vehicles and any other obstacles from the streets on sweeping days.

To view the sweeping schedule, click here.

Seasonal Leaf Collection:

During Leaf Season (October 1 to December 31 only), your garbage company will collect up to five (5) bags of extra leaves per week at no additional charge.

To learn more, click here.

Christmas Tree Collection:

During the three (3) regularly scheduled collection days after Christmas, residents may place their Christmas tree next to their cart(s) for collection. Your service provider will remove the Christmas tree and see that it is properly recycled.

PLEASE NOTE:

All tinsel, metal ornaments and metal stands must be removed from the trees. If your tree is longer than six feet, it must be cut in half to be collected.
