Stockton Parks and Recreation Commission Vacancies
(Stockton, CA) - The City of Stockton is currently accepting applications for two vacancies on the Stockton Parks and Recreation Commission. These vacancies are due to the term expirations of Ray Cezar and Larry Barrett, effective December 31, 2009. The term for these positions will commence January 4, 2010 and run for four (4) years.
The ten (10) - member Commission advises City staff in selecting quality programming and use of parks and recreation facilities. The Commission also provides direction with respect to budget and capital improvements to these same facilities. Appointed commissioners represent the City of Stockton, San Joaquin County and Lincoln, Lodi, Manteca and Stockton Unified School Districts. The appointment of these at-large positions will be made by the Stockton City Council.
The Commission meets on the fourth Monday of each month, 5:30 p.m., at City Hall, 425 N. El Dorado Street, 2nd floor, Council Chambers. This is a volunteer position and there is no remuneration for these positions.
Applicants must be residents of the City of Stockton. Appointments of at-large members are made by the Stockton City Council through an interview process. The deadline for applications is Monday, November 16, 2009, by 5:00 p.m.
