Stockton's
AAC Delegation: "The Dream Lives On!"
(Stockton, CA) - To win an All America City designation, the delegation from Stockton must explain before judges in Atlanta, Georgia, why the City deserves the title. Along with a ten minute question and answer session from the panel, the delegation will perform a skit titled, "The Dream Lives On!"
Created by the wife and husband team of Domini Muller-Kimball
and Paul Kimball, "The Dream Lives On!" introduces Stockton founder Captain Charles Weber to the judges and shows how he would view today's Stockton. The ten minute performance will show Captain Weber that his original dream for the city he founded has grown beyond his expectations. During the skit, the delegates will describe how Stockton has changed, and how the three community-driven projects (Community Partnership for Families, Downtown Alliance, and the Peacekeeper Program) have helped make life better in Stockton over the last three years.
The performance will include singing and testimonials from
the delegates. The original "Dreams Lives On" was
composed for the Stockton Sesquicentennial Pageant in 2000 by Derrell Bodley
and Bobbie Wallinger.
The delegates will be rehearsing this skit on Mondays and
Wednesdays, except for Memorial Day. The public will get a
change to view the performance at a special community preview
on June 7. The delegates will leave for Atlanta on June 9.
