Susan Lofthus is serving her first term as City Councilmember, representing District 3. She was elected in November 2014 for the 2015-2018 term of office.
Councilmember Susan Lofthus was born in Stockton and is a lifelong Stockton resident who attended local schools and graduated from Lincoln High School.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Paralegal Studies from Humphreys College and earned a Human Resources Management Certificate from California State University, Stanislaus. Susan has worked for Allstate Insurance for over 18 years. Previously, she worked as the Human Resources Manager for San Joaquin Packaging and was a representative for Pacific Bell for 15 years.
Susan has been involved in a number of community organizations and activities including: Stockton Asparagus Festival, March of Dimes, and her children’s PTA (Parent Teacher Association). She currently serves as the President of the Board for New Directions, Alcohol & Drug Awareness Program. In addition, Susan is a graduate of the Leadership Stockton Program and an alumna of the University of the Pacific Good Government Program.
Susan and her husband, Jon Gauthier, have four children. She recently adopted her 8-year-old daughter.
