Art For All - May Flowers Art Club

Join us the first Saturday of each month for free workshop-style meetings of Art Club – Art for All, funded by a grant from the Stockton Arts Commission and with help from JLI Sunflower Presents.

The next Art Club is Saturday, May 3, from 12:30-2:30 pm at Bayside Landing, 3318 Brookside Road in Stockton.

Whether an experienced artist, a beginner or just interested in exploring your artistic side, Art Club gatherings provide knowledge and entertainment, with all materials supplied by JLI.

So come paint with us or stop by to watch local artists at work. Stop in with the whole family, alone or with friends. (Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. )

(Ages 4 and up) $35, per month. Come learn the beautiful dances of Mexico. Students will learn folkloric dance rhythms from North, South, East and West Mexico. Weekly classes held Saturdays, instruction for ages 4-10 years old are from 9-10 a.m. and 11 and older from 10:30-11:30 a.m.

A Story Of Fashion

15 designers, 100 models and an evening of fashion and style... get your tickets now!

A Story Of Fashion returns in its 7th year, anticipated to be immense in its presence in Stockton. It showcases some of the best design talent with 15 designers, exclusively hand picked to present their full collections. With over 100 professionally-styled models, this high-energy show is an event not to be missed. On May 9th the attending audience will experience this stunning line up.

A Story of Fashion will showcase the design skills of the Fashion Program students of San Joaquin Delta College. The Collections Class is a course designed for young aspiring designers who are ambitious and ready to put their designs in the spotlight. They draft the concepts of their collections and vigorously work on the designs throughout the spring semester.

This year the featured designers have drawn inspiration from celestial innocents and adolescence to Greek Mythology and a touch of femininity.

Celebrate the Arts on the Delta

Community Center for the Blind invites you to Celebrate the Arts on the Delta. Local artists will be on hand to display their art, available for sale and to raffle. Enjoy wine tastings from local wineries and hors d’ oeuvres, along with local artists in a scenic surrounding. Tickets cost $50.

Community Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired is a non-profit agency dedicated to improving the lives of people in the greater San Joaquin County area who are blind and visually impaired. This year, the organization celebrates its 65th year of service to the community. Thanks to the generosity of the public, Community Center for the Blind is able to provide programs that address vocational, rehabilitation, social, and emotional need of clients.

Join us Saturday, May 17, for a day of fun at the Linden Cherry Festival! Start the day with the Cherry 5K RunWalk at 8 a.m, with a parade down Front Street at 10 a.m. that leads to the festival grounds at Linden Elementary School. The festival features great music with fabulous bands, an awesome car show, tons of kid rides , a pie-eating contest, a cherry bake-off, and vendor booths of all kinds. And don’t forget the fresh cherries. Be sure to come out for a great day of fun!
