Festival of Trees

The 23rd annual Festival of Trees at the San Joaquin County Historical Museum is set for Dec. 6 and 7, Enjoy this spell-binding introduction to the holiday season.

This family holiday event features more than 60 uniquely decorated Christmas trees, childrens activities and make and take crafts, entertainment, food, photos with Santa, historical exhibits and demonstrations of pioneer or handcrafted work.

The event takes on a historic flair with docents dressed in Victorian and pioneer clothes. Visitors will feel as though they took a step back in time to celebrate the holidays.

The Festival of Trees is held at the San Joaquin County Historical Museum, 11793 Micke Grove Road in Lodi. The museum is in Micke Grove Park just south of Lodi. The event begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. each day.

General admission is $10, and children aged 2 to 12 are admitted for $1 each. Children under 2 are admitted free. Tickets may be purchased in advance beginning in mid-October by calling the muse

For $35, per month, earn the beautiful dances of Mexico for all levels. Classes for this session will be held Saturday, December 6, 13, 20 and 27 from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. for ages 4-10 and 10:30 - 11:30 for ages 11 and up.

Learning Game Tutors

Help your school-age child (ages 6-18) get better grades with help from The Learning Game Tutors. Every student enrolling in this program is evaluated, then special lesson plans are created to meet individual needs.Subjects include math, reading, and writing.

Course includes 6 classes per session for a fee of $93. Classes are held Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4, 5, or 6 p.m.

Upcoming Class Schedule: December 2, 4, 9, 11, 16 and 18. Instruction provided by Erin Chester-Bradt.
