Prescription Drug Take-Back Event

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has scheduled another National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day which will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity for those who missed the previous events, or who have subsequently accumulated unwanted, unused prescription drugs, to safely dispose of those medications.

The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposal, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of these medications.

Medical sharps will be accepted at the Arnold Rue Community Center (5758 Lorraine Avenue), Delta College (5151 Pacific Avenue) and University of the Pacific (757 Brookside Road). Any sharps must be delivered in a sealed bio-hazard sharps container or sturdy plastic container, such as a bleach bottle or coffee can.

For a full list of collection locations, visit the DEA's website at http://www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov/drug_disposal/takeback/
