Business License - Residential Rental Property Owners

Stockton Municipal Code section 6-030.23 requires a residential rental business license(s) when three or more residential rental dwelling units are owned by the same owner of record within the City of Stockton. A business license is required for each assessor parcel number (APN) on which one or more rental units are located. A separate business license application form must be completed for each APN on which the rental units are located. This license is required in addition to any other license you may have for any other business activity(ies).

Examples of three or more units include, but are not limited to: an apartment house; a fourplex; two duplexes; a triplex; a duplex and a house; three apartments in the same building; three single family dwellings; three bedrooms rented in single family dwellings. The three dwelling units need not be on the same parcel.
